PALACIO
DE LA MAGDALENA
Calle de la Familia
Real
39005, Santander
The
Palace of La Magdalena is the most
emblematic building in Santander, and
one of the best examples of Spanish
civil architecture. The Palace is
surrounded by an outstanding landscape,
and placed at the top of the homonymous
peninsula. It was built between 1908 and
1912, according to the blueprints of
Gonzalo Bringas and Javier González de
Riancho. The Palace was designed a
summer house that the City Council gave
as a present to the Kings Alfonso XIII
and Victoria Eugenia.
