Family Psychology, Developmental Psychology,
Psychology of a Game, Psychological Assistance
to Families Raising Children with Disabilities
etc.
Supervisor of BA and MA students research in
family psychology. Her research interests
include: Lev Vygotsky’s cultural and historical
approach in diagnostics and correction of mental
development; family psychology; developmental
psychology.
Has completed the retraining program in Systemic
Family Therapy. Apart from teaching at the
university, she works as a family counselor.
Author of several correctional and development
programs for parents with young, preschool and
primary school children. Particiant of
international conferences in Russia and Europe
(Portugal, Switzerland). Author of more than 40
publications.

SIMPOSIUM
The role
of family in evolution of children’s zone of
proximal development at different stages of
ontogeny
The aim of the symposium is to
define the role of the family in the mental
development of young, preschool and primary
school children with disabilities.
The symposium speakers will present the results
of the diagnostics of parental attitudes towards
children with disabilities. They will describe
the correctional work with families where
communication breakdown between parents and
children is taking place. The data on the mental
development of children entering school in
different conditions of family education will be
analyzed. The content of the education project
for families raising children with different
health status, and a classification of parental
attitudes enhancing evolution of children’s zone
of proximal development will be presented.
Recommendations to parents raising a child with
mental disabilities on social and psychological
resources for maintaining a strong marriage will
be provided. All speakers have experience of
working with families and children with
disabilities.
